The headlight of your Zip provides the light and largely determines how the front looks. At Fresh Parts you will find separate LED lamps with fittings, complete headlight units and angel eye lighting, all especially for the Piaggio Zip.
Replace lamp or complete unit
That is the first choice you make. If your headlight glass is intact and the unit still works properly, you only replace the bulb. The Piaggio Zip 2000 uses a BA20D fitting, also known as H6. That is a bayonet fitting: press the lamp slightly, a quarter turn to the left, remove it. New lamp in, quarter turn to the right. Finished.
If the headlight unit itself is damaged or yellowed, you need a complete unit including glass and reflector.
Halogen, LED or angel eye
Halogen is the original choice. Works immediately, no adjustments required. LED provides white light with a xenon look, is brighter than halogen and lasts longer. An LED lamp with a BA20D fitting fits plug-and-play into the Zip's original headlight unit, without adjustments to the wiring.
An angel eye is an LED lamp with an illuminated ring around the lamp. The ring lights up as soon as you turn on the lights and gives the front of the Zip a striking look. The Fresh Parts angel eye is specially prepared for the Zip headlight unit and is supplied with the necessary mounting material.
Adjust after installation
After installing a new lamp, adjust the headlight so that you do not dazzle oncoming traffic. There is a small screw under the headlight glass. Adjust this with a flat-head screwdriver until the light image falls properly on the road.

Which socket does the Piaggio Zip headlight have?
The Piaggio Zip 2000 uses a BA20D fitting, also known as H6. This is a bayonet fitting that fits all 2-stroke, 4-stroke and iGET models of the Zip 2000.
Can I install an LED headlight in my Piaggio Zip myself?
Yes. An LED lamp with a BA20D fitting fits plug-and-play into the original headlight unit. You press the old lamp slightly, turn it a quarter turn to the left and take it out. The new LED lamp goes in the same way. After installation, adjust the light beam with the screw under the headlight glass.

What is the difference between an LED headlight and an angel eye for the Zip?
An LED headlight only replaces the lamp and provides white light with a xenon look. An angel eye also has an illuminated ring around the lamp that always lights up as soon as your lighting is on. Both fit into the Zip's original headlight unit.
When do I need a complete headlight unit instead of just a bulb?
If the headlight glass is cracked or yellowed, or the reflector is damaged, replace the entire unit. If the unit is still in good condition, a separate lamp or headlight glass will suffice.
Does a BA20D LED lamp fit all Piaggio Zip 2000 models?
Yes. The BA20D fitting is standard on all versions of the Zip 2000, including the 2-stroke, 4-stroke 2V, 4-stroke 3V Euro 4 and Euro 5 models.
